Hello everyone. Welcome to LIFECLASS. Thank you, Jesus, for this wonderful opportunity. Hallelujah.

Our series is still Gush Of Abundance and today’s LIFECLASS is titled: Obey To Abound

Has anyone told you that obedience open doors to abundance?

When Elijah commanded Ahab to get up, eat and drink while all the people remained downcast and hungry. It didn’t sound like that was what he should be doing at that time. But he didn’t hesitate. He didn’t ask questions. He didn’t object and he didn’t argue. He simply obeyed. He didn’t complain.

Stop complaining.

When you complain, you dissipate the power available for your use from God’s word. Secondly, you allow a covering over your spiritual senses as your spirit will only reluctantly receive any communications from heaven. The Bible says in Philippians 2: 13 & 14. It says:

13. For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

So, Do all things without murmurings and disputing

When our Lord Jesus was to convert water into wine in John chapter 2, Mary His mother told the disciples to obey and do whatever He tells them to do, because she knows it might sound strange. And true it did sound strange. People needed wine desperately and Jesus told them to fill barrels with water. In the last LIFECLASS, we asserted the importance of listening always to hear the sound of your coming abundance.

I told you it only requires absolute confidence in God’s willingness to lead you aright and your readiness to follow his instructions even if you don’t seem to understand it clearly. That readiness I’m talking about is the readiness to obey. If you will not obey His promptings, then He will soon stop prompting you.

Before we started LIFECLASS, the Lord told me to preach a sermon every day. It looked like an impossibility to me. Actually, it was humanly impossible. I was not pastoring any church at the time but you need to see my daily work schedule. And how was that going to be possible? Who will I be preaching to? But I kept trying to figure out how that would be possible. Later, when LIFECLASS started, and I had even forgotten that particular instruction, I suddenly realized that that instruction is what I’m now carrying out unconsciously. I told that story to let you know that sometimes God’s instructions defy every form of reasoning. But you need to obey anyway.

In 2 Chronicle, chapter 20

Now, let me tell you two things about this subject of obedience.

First, if you want to learn obedience to God, first learn to obey men. If you’re too big to obey people, then you cannot obey God. Because believe me, it’s easier to obey men than to obey God because men instruct you out of reason and logic. But God leads us in ways we least expect.

Trust me, you need to learn to obey the people whom God has placed around you I mean, your wife, your husband, your boss, your teachers, your parents, sometimes, even your children. Learn not to throw away every piece of advice people give to you. Sift through instructions and words of advice and look out for good instructions to obey.

Again, I cite the example of Samuel in 1 verses 1 to 8, Samuel heard God’s voice calling him, but then he kept going to Eli thinking that Eli was the one calling him. Are you seeing the point I’m making? Samuel had learned to obey Eli’s voice so much. He had learned to obey people. He had learned obedience. So God made use of that obedient spirit to introduce himself to Samuel.

See LIFECLASS, don’t train yourself to be rebellious.

Remember that rebellion is compared with the sin of witchcraft in 1 Samuel 15:23. And abundance is far from one who is a witch because of course, that’s what disobedience and rebellion make you.

Bible says in Isaiah 1:19 that if you’re willing and obedient, you will eat the good of the land. Please, you need to check verse 20 of that scripture to see the consequence of rebellion.

Always be willing to obey simple instructions even if the instructor is not as perfect as you are. Rather learn to improve on the instructions you’re given in areas that need to be strengthened and where you sense some shortcoming in the instructions, avoid throwing away the instructor with their instructions. An African adage says that a child who claims to have as many clothes as his father can definitely not have as many rags as his father. Please respect people’s old age, higher experience, and God’s anointing. Be a man or woman under authority. Be a person of grace and not of confrontation. Obedience is a product of meekness. If you aren’t meek, you’d be proud and that’s a beginning of rebellion. Ahab chose not to rebel against or disobey Elijah’s commands in 1 Kings 18:42 even though he was king.

Secondly, always be ready to learn more obedience through anything you pass through, which looks negative. There’s always a message in every adversity. Bible says our Lord Jesus Christ learned obedience through the things He suffered. Hebrews 5:8 says.

8. though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;

9. and being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him. What a word!

Your disobedience could simply be the only thing blocking your gush of abundance.

Many people crave to be led by God, but really, God does not withhold his leading from any believer, he speaks always and leads always – 24/7, but your heart’s willingness to obey will determine how frequent you will hear Him.

And trust me, If you even get to the point where God instructs you himself, where you perceive His genuine leading, then it means He has seen some willingness to obey in you. Please don’t take it for granted. Be prompt in obedience.

Thirdly, always be prepared to obey the Words of God that you see in the Scriptures, without even winking an eye or negotiating it. I encourage you particularly to meditate on God’s word intentionally. You could even spend more hours meditating a specific portion of scriptures than you spend reading. Meditation is what makes the word flesh, it’s where your spirit learns to obey take delivery of what the specific word for you so you run with it and obey.

Finally, please check our text again in 1 Kings 18 verse 42; we see obedience as a critical requisite for abundance. Obedience releases the real power in God’s word into our lives. Ahab had received the instruction from Elijah to get up, eat and drink. In other words, be hopeful, rejoice, be expectant, have faith. And he obeyed. Without questions or objections. What does going up, eating and drinking naturally have to do with getting rain to fall? But he obeyed without answering any doubt in his heart.

There could have been an alternate source of consultation. I should not forget to tell you that if you’ve been finding it difficult to obey God to the letter, please check it, there may still be remains of Baal prophets in your life. You may need to forcefully separate yourself from friends, associates, family members, partners, or just any relationship that stand as unGodly alternatives to obeying God’s instructions in your life.

Obedience is key on your way to abundance. WHY? Because God does everything He does for us, with our cooperation. He tells us what to do, we do it, He won’t do what we should do, and we can’t do what He would do.

Say, Lord Jesus, Thank you for your word. I’m ready for my gush of abundance, and I’m willing to obey every leading of yours. Help me to be meek and obedient always in Jesus’ Name. Amen!

Disobedience is a sin and it will not only block your gush of abundance, moreover, it will also lead you to hell. But God has prepared heaven for all of us His children who are born again and who follow Him to the end. Have you given your life to Jesus? Are you born again? Are you sure? Are you still in faith? If your answer to any of these questions is No or an uncertainty of any sort, then I’m glad you came.

Say, Lord Jesus, Thank you for dying for my sins. I receive this grace today the grace to be obedient from today. I’m sorry for my sins and I forsake them. I receive your forgiveness. Thank you for saving me. I will be obedient from today in Jesus’ Name. Amen!
